Why Panda Exists

Why Panda Martial Arts Exists

At Panda Martial Arts, everything we create starts with one simple question:

“Would I be happy for my own children
to wear this?”

If the answer isn’t yes, we don’t make it.

Because before Panda Martial Arts became a brand, it started with something much more important — my two sons.

It Started on the Mats

When my boys began their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey, they couldn’t wait to get on the mats.

Like many parents, I wanted to buy them a Gi they would be proud to wear.

But finding one wasn’t as easy as I expected.

Most children’s gis looked the same. They were plain, uninspiring and lacked the personality and excitement my boys felt every time they went to training.

They wanted something different.

Something colourful.

Something that reflected how much they loved Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

So I Started Making My Own

Rather than settling for what was available, I decided to create something myself.

I began dyeing plain gis by hand, experimenting with different colours and adding custom embroidered patches to make each one unique.

Every Gi was made for my own children.

There was no business plan.

No intention of starting a brand.

I simply wanted my boys to have something they genuinely loved wearing to class.

Other Parents Started Asking

It didn’t take long before other parents noticed.

At our local academy and at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions, families regularly
stopped to ask where the gis had come from.

Many were facing exactly the same problem we had.

They wanted high-quality gis that their children were excited to wear—not just
another plain uniform.

The encouragement from those parents was overwhelming.

Again and again, they told me I should turn the idea into a business.

That encouragement became Panda Martial Arts.

Built by a BJJ Parent, for BJJ Parents

We’re not a large corporation.

We’re not a fashion brand trying to enter martial arts.

We’re a family that understands exactly what it’s like to raise children who love
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

We know the excitement of a first class.

The nerves before a competition.

The pride of earning a new belt.

The muddy gis after a long weekend at a tournament.

Every product we design is created with those experiences in mind.

Our Promise

As parents ourselves, we know that quality matters.

Children train hard.

They roll.

They climb.

They pull.

They wash their gis week after week.

That’s why we focus on creating products that are comfortable, durable and designed to
stand up to regular training.

But quality isn’t just about materials.

It’s about trust.

If I wouldn’t be happy for my own sons to wear it, I wouldn’t expect your child to
wear it either.

That principle guides every decision we make.

More Than Just a Gi

To us, a Gi isn’t simply something children wear to training.

It’s the Gi they earn their first stripe in.

The one they wear for their first competition.

The one they stand proudly in when they receive their next belt.

These are memories that last a lifetime.

We’re
incredibly proud to play a small part in those moments.

Thank You

Whether your child is stepping onto the mats for the very first time or preparing for their next competition, thank you for considering Panda Martial Arts.

We’re honoured every time a family chooses one of our products.

Because at the heart of Panda Martial Arts is still the same goal that inspired it from the beginning:

To create Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gear that children love to wear and that parents can trust with complete confidence.

From our family to yours—thank you for being part of the Panda journey.
